Carl’s mothers family (The Wintroad’s)

Ruth – Carl’s mother. Her siblings were Clara, Viona, Mae, Charlie, Henry, Bob and Dan.

Charlie lived on their family farm near Andrew’s. Carl didn’t ever really know him.

Henry lived in Huntington.

Bob moved to California.

Dan moved to Coffeyville, Kansas

Mae married Freeman and they lived in Belleville, Ohio

Viona lived in Ohio.

Clara lived in Wabash. One of her kids was Mary. Mary had a daughter Natalie and a son, Jimmy Grimmer.

Carl always kept in touch with Jimmy. While Jimmy was in the service his commanding officers thought he was having some mental problems and admitted him into a hospital where they gave him electric shock treatments. Jimmy was an interesting character. He was a wanderer. He never seemed to dig his roots down. He was very intelligent. Later in his life he was diagnosed with cancer. Jimmy struggled with this news and ended his life by running his car with the windows down inside a closed garage. After this happened the family found out that the Dr had misdiagnosed his cancer. This was always was hard on Carl.

Carl’s fathers family (The Holmes’)

Jasper – Carl’s father. His siblings were Mary, Orphie, Arnold, Ernie and Emmit.

Mary was the oldest. Carl didn’t know too much about her, her married name was McLaughlin.

Orphie, lived in Huntington.

Arnold married Mercedes. They lived in Michigan.

Ernie married Marie. They lived in Huntington County

Emmit was the youngest. He had married 3-4 wives and he lived in Michigan.
