This story begins with Carl’s older brother Kenny.
All of the Holmes’ brothers were lost and without any direction.
Kenny was at Doc’s Place, a bar in downtown Huntington. When he left the bar there was a Salvation Army Band playing music at a street fair outside of the bar. They engaged in conversation with Kenny and invited him to attend a church service with them.
After attending the service Kenny’s accepted the Lord as his Savior and his life was changed.
About this same time, Carl felt the need to go back to Indiana. He didn’t know why but something was tugging on his heart to head back home.
He had been back in Indiana for a while when Kenny invited him to a service at the Salvation Army. Just like Kenny, Carl accepted the Lord as his Savior as well. This was the best decision he would ever make in his life. This was on December 26, 1957. Not to long after this he would meet Donna, the love of his life. Things were starting to look up for Carl for a change.
